FAQs

What is Reformer Pilates?

Reformer Pilates is a low impact, spring-based exercise system created by Joseph Pilates. The Pilates Reformer is a machine with a bed-like frame that utilizes spring tension and a carriage on smooth rollers that can be used for a full body workout. Exercises that can be done on a reformer increase core strength, mobility, flexibility, and balance.

Iā€™M NEW TO PILATES. WHERE SHOULD I START?

We recommend starting with a 30 minute introductory course to familiarize yourself with the studio and try some of the equipment. You will also be able to talk to an instructor, ask questions, and see where you would like to go from there. We have 30 minute introductory classes (book under the Class tab) and 30 minute introductory private sessions (book under the Private Sessions Tab).

How do I make an account to manage my appointments?

First, you have to purchase an appointment or a package on RockHillPilates.com. Then, you must schedule your first appointment with the link inside your email receipt. Book your first appointment time, and look for the option to create an account. Create an account, and book, reschedule, and manage all appointments from your account.

Can I take Pilates if I am pregnant?

Yes, absolutely! Pilates is a low-impact workout, good for every stage of pregnancy. Pilates helps pregnant people stay active, increases stamina (which can help prepare for labor and delivery), and helps to strengthen the abdominals, back, and pelvic floor.

If I have a chronic injury, is Pilates right for me?

Yes, it is. In fact, Pilates was originally created by Joseph Pilates to help wounded World War I veterans. Private sessions are designed to help the specific needs of the clients, including those in special populations. These clients might include people with osteoporosis, scoliosis, hip and knee replacements, herniated discs, back injuries, and much more!
